Local Franchise Owner Donates 150 Boxes of Cinnabons as “Thank You” to Meals on Wheels People Employees

Local Cinnabon franchise owner Steve Foltz is donating 150 boxes of Cinnabons to Meals on Wheels People employees as a Valentine “thank you” for keeping older adults fed during the pandemic. Cinnabons will be delivered to the Meals on Wheels People Central Kitchen at 9 a.m. on Feb. 10 for distribution to employees.

“Meals on Wheels People employees are some of the unsung heroes of frontline workers,” said Steve, who also serves on Meals on Wheels People’s board of directors. “They’ve been making thousands of meals every weekday throughout the pandemic to deliver to homebound seniors, many of whom have no other access to fresh food. I wanted to let them know how much their work is appreciated.”

For more than 18 years, Steve and his staff baked thousands of cinnamon rolls every Valentine’s Day as part of Meals on Wheels People’s popular Valentine-A-Gram event. “Delivering the gift boxes in time for Valentine’s Day was a fun throwback to the days of our Valentine-A-Gram event,” Steve said. “And everyone needs a little treat on Valentine’s Day.”

About Meals on Wheels People: Meals on Wheels People has been changing lives, one meal at a time, since 1970. We provide more than a meal to thousands of older adults in the greater Portland metro area. Our service not only alleviates hunger and social isolation, but allows seniors to live independently with dignity in their own homes. Aging in place reduces depression, falls and hospitalization as well as the high cost of institutional care. For more information, visit: mowp.org.
