Meals on Wheels People and the Bloom Project Deliver 2,500 Festive Holly Centerpieces Thanks to Teufel Holly Farms

On Tuesday, Dec. 12, local business and nonprofits collaborate once again, spreading holiday cheer to seniors throughout the region

Who / What: Through its unique partnership with Meals on Wheels People and The Bloom ProjectTeufel Holly Farmswill donate 2,500 holiday centerpieces to seniors throughout the region. Just in time for the holidays, the fifth year of this collaboration will bring cheer and encouragement to those in need.

  • Delivery of 2,500 holiday centerpieces to Meals on Wheels People by representatives of Teufel Holly Farms and The Bloom Project.
  • Volunteers loading fleet of trucks, where a team of nearly 400 drivers will later deliver the holiday centerpieces to homebound seniors.

About Meals on Wheels People: Meals on Wheels People has been changing lives, one meal at a time, since 1970. We provide hot, nutritious meals to older adults at dozens of meal sites in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties, and Meals on Wheels delivery to homebound senior. About The Bloom Project: Founded in 2007 by Heidi Berkman, The Bloom Project is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that provides fresh floral bouquets to hospice and palliative care patients. The Bloom Project receives each of its flowers as donations provided by wholesale floral companies, growers and local grocery stores. The flowers are repurposed by volunteers into beautiful bouquets ready to deliver to local hospice and palliative care patients. Berkman and her team of volunteers are committed to sustainable business practices.
