Volunteer of the Month: Lenka Bescond

Volunteer: Lenka Bescond
Center: Tigard
Total Hours: 268
Volunteer Since: 2018

Q: What made you interested in volunteering with Meals on Wheels People?
A:  My coworker at New Seasons Market where I work used to do it and asked me to go with her a couple of times. I got addicted and the rest is history!

Q: What do you enjoy most about your volunteer experience?
A:  Definitely seeing our customers. I am glad if I can improve their day just a little bit.

Q: What inspires you?
A:  People who keep doing the right thing without thinking about it.

Q: What do you like to do when you’re not volunteering?
A:  Reading, walking Bella, who is a 5-year-old female Pyrenees, cooking, watching films, classics as well as films from abroad. It’s so moving to see people from other places struggling with similar issues or being happy for the same reasons. Sometimes it helps to distill what’s important in this life.

Q: If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
A:  On a Greek island. Or in Wales near the coast. Maybe Tuscany? Capri? Big Sur? A small town in France? So hard to decide!
