Due to inclement weather, Meals on Wheels People will cease meal delivery and on-site lunches Feb 13.
(Feb. 13, 2025 – Portland, OR.) Due to inclement weather, Meals on Wheels People has canceled meal deliveries and on-site lunches in Multnomah, Washington, and Clark counties on Thursday, Feb. 13.
Our top priority is the safety of both our participants and volunteers. We are reaching out to all meal recipients scheduled for delivery and encouraging them to use the shelf-stable meals we provided earlier. Meals on Wheels People also delivers supplemental groceries weekly to help homebound seniors prepare for situations like this.
“We plan ahead for these emergencies, ensuring that all meal recipients have additional food supplies to rely on,” says Meals on Wheels People CEO Suzanne Washington. “Today, our staff and volunteers will make safety calls to recipients to ensure they are safe and remind them to use their emergency meals.”
We encourage community members to check on older neighbors and loved ones during this time. If you know of someone in need, please contact Meals on Wheels People for assistance.
