Donate Dinner
Donate
Your financial contribution helps ensure that older adults in our community have access to nutritious meals and social support. Because of your compassion, we’re among one of the largest senior nutrition programs in the county, and we’ve never had a waiting list for meals.
Volunteer
Volunteering with Donate Dinner is a rewarding way to give back to your community. Volunteers greet shoppers and encourage them to participate in the Donate Dinner campaign at local grocery stores, including New Seasons, Jim’s Thriftway, and Market of Choice. Stores with volunteers tend to raise 3x more than locations without on-site support! We rely on hundreds of volunteers during the month of November to support this campaign, and we need you!
spread the word
Help us make a bigger impact this holiday season by sharing the Donate Dinner campaign with your friends and family! Use our Social Media Toolkit to get the word out and inspire others to support Meals on Wheels People. Every post, share, and donation gets us closer to our goal of raising $300,000 for this year’s campaign.
Partner
Businesses are the heart of our Donate Dinner campaign and play unique role supporting older adults through this fundraising effort. Partnering with Meals on Wheels People gives your customers and employees the opportunity to engage with a critical cause in the community where they live and work.
Flexible ways for businesses to participate:
- Point-of-Purchase Donation: Engage customers at checkout by inviting them to add $1, $5, or $10 to their purchase.
- Donation Wall: Create a visual impact with a branded wall where customers add their name with a donation.
- Round-Up Campaign: Enable customers to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar to support Meals on Wheels People.
- Matching Gifts: Double the impact by matching customer or employee donations during Donate Dinner.

About
Donate Dinner is an annual fundraising effort that brings together local grocery stores, restaurants, retailers, volunteers, and the community each November to fight food insecurity and malnutrition for isolated seniors.
For over 20 years, the Donate Dinner campaign has provided a simple way for shoppers to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults. In the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, customers can donate the cost of a meal or more to Meals on Wheels People, ensuring our aging neighbors have access to nutritious meals and critical social support.
What started as a grassroots effort in 2003 raising just $2,200 has grown into a powerful community movement. In 2024, Donate Dinner partners and generous shoppers helped raise more than $200,000 — enough to serve more than 20,000 meals to older adults in need! This year, we have an even bigger goal — to raise $300,000 — to ensure that we don’t have a waiting list for meals this holiday season and beyond.
